Installation Instructions
   
Step 5: Click on "Change" to continue the installation.

Step 6: Find the manufacturer of your monitor in the left hand column (Manufacturers) and click on the manufacturers name.  Next, find your model of monitor from the right hand side (Models) and click on it. In the example above, a ViewSonic 17 is the monitor that will be installed.  If your monitor is not listed go to the
monitordriver.com Page, download the driver, then click on Have Disk and point the directory to where you have downloaded the monitor driver and follow the remaining instructions.  
   
   
Step 7: Windows 98 will then ask you if you want to resize your desktop, click on 'OK' and windows will take your new monitor settings into effect.  If the monitor settings do not work, i.e. you cannot see the display, you get wavy lines or multiple displays,  reboot the computer in safe mode and reset your display settings to the previous monitor settings. To get reboot into safe mode, press F8 upon seeing the words 'Starting Windows 95', and the select 'Safe Mode' to continue.
